Protecting Your Interests
Representing Maryland divorce and family law clients for more than twenty years, Shelly Maynard Ingram has the experience necessary to protect your interests. As a lawyer who has litigated cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, property, domestic violence, and an array of post-judgment matters, Shelly brings a wealth of knowledge to a variety of family law matters. If your case must go to court, Shelly will advocate for you and for your family as if it were her own. As a mediator and Collaborative Law professional, Shelly also has the ability to help you explore a variety of options beyond traditional litigation.
Maryland Experience
A lifelong resident of Maryland, Shelly is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Baltimore School of Law. The first in her family to obtain a graduate degree, Shelly earned her law degree at night while working full-time as a Law Clerk for the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office. After graduating from law school, Shelly had the prestigious honor of serving as a Judicial Clerk to retired Judge Steven I. Platt of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Family-Focused
Shelly has devoted her legal career to family matters both in and out of the courtroom. As a child of divorce and a person who has been divorced herself, Shelly understands the uncertainty and frustrations of custody and divorce. In addition to alternative dispute resolution training with the District Court of Maryland, Shelly has completed advanced mediation certification focused on access, child custody, and marital property disputes. Shelly’s ability as a mediator provides clients with an opportunity to resolve disputes in a uniquely tailored and cost-effective way.
As a Maryland family law attorney, mediator, and Collaborative professional, Shelly Ingram guides her clients through many difficult conversations that often lead to creative resolution of marital property and child custody disputes. While no one knows the financial needs of your family and what is best for your children better than you, Shelly will educate you about the law and the legal process. If a Collaborative approach is appropriate in your case, Shelly Ingram will advocate for your interests and honor your family’s commitment to keep your disputes out of court. When litigation is your only option, Shelly will be by your side from beginning to end.
